Changwon Special City Holds First Expanded Executive Meeting of the Latter Half, Officially Launches City Administration
Mayor Hong Nampyo: "I Will Lead the Second Half of the 8th Civil Administration with Tangible Results and Community-Focused Projects"
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held its first expanded executive meeting of the second half of 2024 in the third conference room at City Hall.
The expanded executive meeting held on the 5th was organized to share the direction for city administration in the second half, following a major organizational restructuring due to the regular personnel appointments in the first half of 2024 and as the eighth popularly elected administration marks its second anniversary. After reports on major issues from departments, bureaus, offices, the five district offices, and affiliated organizations, Mayor Hong Nam-pyo delivered his remarks.
Presiding over the meeting, Mayor Hong stressed, "If the first two years focused on completing the blueprint for Changwon's next 50 years and correcting large-scale projects that had gone off track, the second half will be about making these plans more concrete, doubling down on execution to produce visible results, and concentrating all efforts on expanding practical, citizen-centered projects so residents can truly feel the changes."
To this end, Mayor Hong emphasized the crucial role of the five district heads, saying, "As the front line of administration, district and town offices must thoroughly understand the projects underway in their jurisdictions and serve as vanguards in informing citizens. They should continuously monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on schedule."
He added, "The Integrated Food Support Center can fully achieve its intended effects by utilizing existing facilities without constructing a new building. Please ensure thorough project management so that it can be fully operational in the second half of the year. Special attention must also be paid to minimizing damage from summer monsoons, heatwaves, and strikes by environmental workers."
