Bang Kyung-man, President of KT&G, marked his 100th day in office by delivering a message emphasizing communication, challenge, collaboration, and sharing.
On the 8th, President Bang stated, “To achieve the highest level of sustainable performance, an organizational culture that inspires joy in work, meaning, and motivation for growth is necessary,” and emphasized, “To create a KT&G where members enjoy their work and grow, let us increase opportunities for communication (+), eliminate inefficiencies (-), demonstrate the best synergy through bold challenges and collaboration (×), and share the fruits of growth (÷).”
This CEO message was sent via email to all employees and was also distributed in English for employees worldwide.
Since his inauguration, President Bang has focused on strengthening competitiveness and growth centered on core businesses (overseas cigarettes, NGP, health functional foods) for 100 days. First, to maximize performance creation, he established new divisions for strategy, marketing, and production, and strengthened the responsibility management system of each division head. Additionally, in overseas markets, he set up regional CICs (Company-In-Company, internal independent companies) and production headquarters to enhance organizational efficiency and execution capability.
He has also worked to create a workplace where everyone can work well by overcoming generational gaps through two-way communication with employees. President Bang personally visited domestic manufacturing and sales sites as well as key overseas business locations such as Indonesia, Mongolia, and Taiwan to build consensus on the company vision with employees and encourage strong growth in core businesses.
Last month, he participated in the appointment ceremony for the ‘Global Junior Committee,’ which will lead corporate culture innovation domestically and internationally, and personally hosted a “Can Meeting” to communicate openly with employees, taking the lead in creating a creative and flexible organizational culture. The recent ‘Organizational Culture Innovation Plan’ was also developed reflecting the voices of employees gathered during his 100-day on-site management.
