‘Dongdaemun Smart District Office’ Equipped with Big Data-Based Integrated Situation System
Real-Time Monitoring of Safety, Budget, and Civil Complaints Status for Smart Administration Implementation
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 2nd that it will operate a ‘Smart District Mayor’s Office’ that allows real-time monitoring of disaster situations at a glance.
The ‘Smart District Mayor’s Office’ is equipped with a ‘big data-based integrated situation system’ that enables a comprehensive view of disaster safety situations occurring in the area, road traffic conditions, and various district administration indicators through a large DID (Digital Information Display) composed of six 55-inch displays connected as one screen.
The wall of the mayor’s office is fully covered with screens displaying ▲ ‘City Status,’ which shows disaster, fire, rescue, emergency, traffic accidents, and disaster safety facilities ▲ ‘Pledges,’ which checks the progress of campaign promises ▲ ‘Urban Projects,’ showing the progress of major projects by five living zones ▲ ‘YES Dongdaemun,’ displaying projects related to the city of flowers, carbon-neutral city, smart city, and various indicators ▲ ‘Public Opinion Trends,’ covering the status of civil complaints under ‘Requests to the Mayor’ and various media reports ▲ ‘General Status,’ showing population and budget execution status.
The district plans to implement smart administration based on big data by collecting, linking, and visualizing various data scattered across multiple locations using the ‘Smart District Mayor’s Office.’
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “Through the operation of the Smart District Mayor’s Office, we will quickly respond to disaster safety situations to ensure residents’ safety, check various district administration indicators, and promote prompt decision-making and policies.” He added, “We will do our best to create a ‘Smart City Dongdaemun-gu’ where residents can live comfortably by utilizing smart technology.”
