In particular, it was analyzed that the highest number of emergency patients occurred during the peak summer season from July to September. Emergency patients during July to September over the past three years totaled 333, accounting for 30% of the total, indicating the need for careful attention to safety.
Emergency patients mainly occurred in Sinan-gun and Jindo-gun, areas with many islands, and the Maritime Police transported them primarily using coastal rescue boats and small vessels for quick response.
Mokpo Maritime Police plans to continue efforts to protect the precious lives of island residents in medical blind spots by discussing improvements to the island emergency medical system together with health centers located in Sinan-gun and Jindo-gun.
