Kakao Cloud Hosts 'Summit 2024' for Kakao Group Developers
Kakao Enterprise announced on the 2nd that it successfully hosted the 'Kakao Cloud Summit 2024.'
The event, held on the 28th of last month at the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, was the first time Kakao Cloud hosted it independently. It was conducted for developers within the Kakao Group, with about 400 pre-registrants, but approximately 500 attendees were present on-site.
Yeo Hyung, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Kakao Enterprise, emphasized in his keynote speech that since changing the service name to Kakao Cloud in September 2023, they have focused their capabilities on cloud technology development, achieving three competitive advantages: ▲high performance and low cost ▲scalability ▲security.
He also stated that the service offers performance comparable to overseas CSPs (Cloud Service Providers) at a more affordable price, utilizing multiple availability zones to ensure high stability and flexibility. Additionally, it holds essential domestic information protection and security certifications, as well as international cloud security certifications.
At the event, Kakao Cloud revealed the design schematics and operational logic of the SmartNIC developed in collaboration with AMD. Technical sessions on computing services such as BCS (Beyond Compute Service) and network infrastructure also received high acclaim.
CTO Yeo Hyung said, "I feel rewarded to share the results of our long-term efforts to develop cloud technologies and functions that are on par with overseas CSPs with the group’s crew," adding, "We will focus all our capabilities on cloud technology development, a new initiative of the Kakao Group, and continuously strive to enter the global top 10."
