Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Visits Customized Job Sites for Special Education Students
Delivery of Participation Institution Certification Plaques... Collecting On-site Feedback and Encouragement
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 1st that it visited local community businesses participating in the ‘2024 Customized Job Project for Students with Special Educational Needs’ and presented them with ‘Participation Institution Plaques.’
Held in collaboration with the Gwangju branch of the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute, this site visit was prepared to encourage businesses that are striving to improve awareness of disabilities and promote job opportunities.
Additionally, to ensure that the customized job project’s on-site training is operated more effectively, the training status and difficulties of trainees participating in the on-site training were checked, and feedback regarding the businesses was collected.
The ‘Customized Job Project’ is an on-site training program lasting 2 to 3 months, where professional personnel (training support staff) provide job support and assist throughout the entire vocational rehabilitation service process for students with special educational needs.
In the first half of this year, nine students from five special schools are participating in activities such as laundry management at ‘Aju Hospital,’ subcontracting work at ‘Emmaus Protective Workshop,’ patient transfer assistance at ‘Cheomdan Nursing Hospital,’ and subcontracting work at ‘Sion Vocational Rehabilitation Center.’
The Office of Education plans to encourage many local institutions to participate in the ‘Customized Job Project for Students with Special Educational Needs.’
