Suspicion of Receiving a Total of 57.5 Million Won in Bribes
The prosecution investigating allegations of preferential treatment and corruption in the Saemangeum solar power project has indicted and detained a former aide to Shin Young-dae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the 28th, the Joint Investigation Team for National Financial Crimes at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office announced that Mr. A was indicted and detained on charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (accepting bribes through mediation).
Mr. A is accused of receiving a total of 57.5 million won, including 37.5 million won disguised as a salary and 20 million won in cash, under the pretext of requesting favors from the public officials in charge related to the contract for the Saemangeum solar power project construction.
