Press Day of Busan Mobility Show on the 27th
On the 27th, BMW unveiled the compact electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAC) iX2 for the first time in Korea at the Busan Mobility Show. BMW was the only imported car brand to participate in this event and also announced plans to establish win-win strategies with the local community.
At the Busan Mobility Show, BMW showcased a total of 10 models including the iX2. The iX2, introduced for the first time in Korea at Busan, is the brand's first pure electric SAC. Hansang Yoon, CEO of BMW Group Korea, said, "We will offer various pleasures provided by mobility and present a new blueprint for the group," adding, "We will realize social sustainability through responsible corporate activities that coexist with the local community."
Featuring a coupe-style roofline, an eco-friendly drive system, and abundant versatility, the iX2 also offers an innovative digital experience by applying BMW OS 9, the latest operating system of iDrive.
The iX2 is equipped with the '5th generation BMW eDrive system.' This system includes an electric drive unit that delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a system maximum torque of 25.5 kg·m. The time it takes to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (zero to sixty-two mph) is 8.6 seconds.
A high-voltage battery with a capacity of 64.8 kWh is installed, and the driving range per single charge is 478 km based on WLTP standards. Using a 130 kW fast charger, it takes 29 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
Additionally, the new iX2 comes standard with a T-map-based Korean version of BMW navigation. This system reflects the latest maps and traffic information in real time and suggests the optimal driving route considering the vehicle's charging status. By utilizing BMW's digital premium features, digital services such as air console games and third-party apps are also available.
Meanwhile, BMW Group also unveiled a new electric model from its compact premium brand, Mini. The new 4th generation Mini Electric Cooper maintains the brand's design heritage while adding eco-friendliness.
The interior features a slim and wide dashboard and a newly designed steering wheel that delivers Mini's unique 'go-kart feeling.' At the center of the interior is a high-resolution circular OLED display with a diameter of 240 mm, enhancing the display quality and creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
