Changwon Special City Marks Key Milestone in 8th Civil Administration ... July Regular Personnel Appointments Implemented
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will implement its regular personnel appointments in July, involving approximately 890 employees, including 170 promotions, transfers, and new civil servant appointments, effective July 1.
The core of this regular personnel reshuffle is that it comes at a critical turning point for the 8th popularly elected administration. To respond to diverse and complex urban development demands, a new "Urban Public Development Bureau" will be established to systematize the process from planning public facilities to post-completion maintenance, thereby enhancing expertise and improving transparency.
Additionally, the previously dispersed industrial complex tasks will be consolidated by establishing the "Industrial Complex Planning Division" within the "Urban Policy Bureau," focusing on organizational renewal and policy innovation. Through the integrated process of industrial complex planning, development, R&D, and corporate attraction, the city aims to systematize support for industrial complexes and strengthen administrative capabilities by deploying personnel in the right places.
Through this personnel reshuffle, the city has carefully laid the foundation for 50 years of future growth by linking urban and industrial complexes, and aims to establish an industrial hub by connecting industrial complex infrastructure.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "We will normalize long-delayed major projects and accelerate development projects, while also laying the groundwork for change and innovation to become the top manufacturing city. Through appropriate municipal administration, we will meet the expectations of our citizens."
Meanwhile, all 72 new civil servant candidates waiting for appointment will be hired to supplement administrative capacity and improve the quality of administrative services, addressing shortages caused by parental leave and retirements.
