The Naju City Public Health Center has organized a pest control task force consisting of 23 teams from the health center, towns, and neighborhoods, and will carry out pest control across the entire city of Naju until October 18, with five times a week in Bitgaram-dong, Nampyeong New Town, the old downtown, and Yeongsanpo, and three times a week in towns and townships.
In particular, due to global warming, complaints about flies and mosquitoes have increased, prompting preemptive pest control in major mosquito habitats such as septic tanks, stagnant water puddles, landfill sites, residential alleys, and densely populated areas.
Additionally, in February this year, to prevent infectious diseases and mosquito-borne illnesses among the elderly and infants with weakened immunity during summer, larvicidal projects were conducted targeting 644 locations including senior centers and apartment complexes with over 300 households within the jurisdiction.
A representative from the Naju City Public Health Center stated, "We are focusing pest control efforts on areas with frequent resident reports and complaints to protect citizens' health during the summer," adding, "If you call the mosquito control reporting center, we will promptly respond with pest control."
