[Invest&Law] Law Firm Kwangjang Holds Seminar on 'Harmonious Development Plans for Personal and Financial Information Regulatory Systems'
Kwangjang Law Firm (Chief Attorney Kim Sang-gon) held a special seminar titled “Harmonious Development Plans for the Regulatory Systems of Personal Information and Financial Information” at 10 a.m. on the 19th in the Kwangjang Academia Room on the first floor of the new building of Hanjin Building, Jung-gu, Seoul.
This seminar was organized to commemorate the MOU signing between the Personal Information Experts Association and the Financial Security Institute and to discuss harmonious development plans for the regulatory systems of personal information in the financial sector. A total of about 200 people attended, including key figures from the Financial Services Commission, the Personal Information Protection Commission, the Personal Information Experts Association, and the Financial Security Institute, as well as corporate legal, personal information, and finance practitioners, and online participants.
The opening remarks were delivered by Choi Kyung-jin, president of the Personal Information Experts Association, followed by congratulatory speeches from Kwon Dae-young (pictured above), Secretary General of the Financial Services Commission, Kim Cheol-woong, president of the Financial Security Institute, and Kim Sang-gon, chief attorney of Kwangjang (age 56, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 23).
Choi Jang-hyuk, vice chairman of the Personal Information Protection Commission, presented on “MyData and the Development of the Data Ecosystem,” Ko Gyu-man, head of the Personal Information Planning Team at the Financial Security Institute, spoke on “Personal Information Protection Act Issues Financial Institutions Should Be Aware Of,” and Son Kyung-min, attorney at Kwangjang (age 41, class 37), delivered a presentation on “Compliance Strategies for the Personal Information Protection Act in the Financial Sector,” followed by a panel discussion.
Yoon Jong-soo, attorney at Kwangjang (age 60, class 22), said, “It was a meaningful occasion where top experts in finance and personal information gathered to share insights for establishing a harmonious regulatory system,” adding, “I feel a great sense of accomplishment as many people attended both online and offline and evaluated it as a valuable time.”
Meanwhile, Kwangjang’s Personal Information/DPC group consists of about 50 experts, and the finance group has about 170 experts.
