'National University-Industry Cooperative SW Academy Workshop' Held at Pukyong National University
Over 70 General Managers and Staff from 10 National SW Academies Participate under the Supervision of the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation
The “University-Enterprise Cooperative SW Academy Workshop” and the general managers’ meeting, organized by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) under the Ministry of Science and ICT, were held at the National Pukyong National University for two days starting on the 20th.

View original imageThe event was attended by more than 70 people, including general managers and staff from 10 SW Academies nationwide?such as the National Pukyong National University consortium, Chosun University, Gachon University, Korea University, Seokyeong University, Hongik University, Chungnam National University, Sungkyunkwan University, TmaxTibero, and Pohang TP consortium?as well as the Director of Strategic Planning, division heads, and team leaders from IITP.
On the first day, at the university headquarters’ main conference room, the workshop featured an introduction to IITP’s major projects and case discussions. This was followed by project presentations and an awards ceremony by the 4th cohort graduates of the Digital Smart Busan Academy (Director: Noh Maengseok) at National Pukyong National University.
The grand prize went to the Joylink team (Kim Beomgyu, Park Kijae, Park Hyunjun, Son Gaeol, Choi Seyoon) for their presentation of a “Club Meeting Management Platform,” with an award of 1 million KRW.
On the second day, a general managers’ meeting was held at the Changui Hall of National Pukyong National University to discuss challenges in operating the SW Academy and explore future development strategies.
National Pukyong National University leads the Digital Smart Busan Academy and, together with Dong-A University and Dong-Eui University, runs a 16-week curriculum (8 weeks of theoretical education and 8 weeks of project-based education) to cultivate ICT professionals tailored to the needs of local industries.
Currently, applications are open for the 5th cohort of the “AI Project 640-Hour Intensive Training Course” until July 4, with theoretical and practical courses as well as AI deep learning-based data science projects scheduled to run for six months starting July 5.
Director Noh Maengseok said, “This workshop and general managers’ meeting provided an opportunity to share know-how on fostering SW talent and to strengthen networking among participating organizations.”
