Checking Operational Status and Gathering Feedback... Improving Next Year's Operational Direction

Haeundae Office of Education in Busan will implement the ‘Haeundae Humanities Literacy Program On-site Support’ that has been operated since last March.

This program is designed to foster students’ humanities literacy and is operated in two courses: ‘ReadGo! MakeGo! Movies and Plays’ and ‘Local Community Linked Reading Experience’.

This on-site support will be conducted in the form of class observations by the supervising education officer and interviews with homeroom teachers and instructors. The feedback collected on-site will be compiled together with the results of the online follow-up survey and used as basic data for next year’s program operation.

The ‘ReadGo! MakeGo! Movies and Plays’ course allows students to directly experience the process of producing movies and plays, including comics and animations, through collaborative classes between cultural and arts specialists and homeroom teachers. It will be held for 63 elementary school classes until the end of October.

The ‘Local Community Linked Reading Experience’ course brings excellent instructors from Busan’s libraries to matched classes to provide high-quality humanities lessons. This course will be conducted for 100 classes until the end of November.

Won Mikyung, superintendent of Haeundae Office of Education, said, “Through this on-site support, we will strengthen the accountability of the education office and strive to operate better humanities literacy programs so that we can nurture students with sound character.”
