The National Gwangju Science Museum is hosting the "5th Geoulmot Model Boat Creation Competition."
This competition consists of an online preliminary round to assess inquiry skills for research performance, followed by a final round where participants create model boats using motors, gears, transmitters, and receivers provided by the science museum along with materials prepared by the participants themselves, to cross the museum's Geoulmot pond. The final round will be held as a 2-day, 1-night camp on September 7-8.
Thirty teams will be selected each for the elementary and middle school divisions, with eligibility for the elementary division starting from 4th grade. Each team must consist of two students and one supervising teacher to participate.
Awards include the Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor's Award and the Gwangju Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Award, each given to two teams per category, and the National Gwangju Science Museum Director's Award, given to a total of eight teams.
