Ulsan City Launches Nationwide 'Maeumtuja Support Project'
From July, Professional Psychological Counseling Services for Depression and Anxiety
Ulsan City will officially launch the "National Mind Investment Support Project" starting this July.
This project has been established to provide professional psychological counseling services to citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
Eligible recipients include those recognized as needing psychological counseling by mental health welfare centers, university counseling centers, youth counseling and welfare centers, Wee Centers, or those deemed to require psychological counseling due to depression or anxiety by psychiatric medical institutions.
Additionally, individuals who have been identified with moderate or higher levels of depression (a score of 10 or above) through the national health checkup's mental health screening (depression screening test, PHQ-9), as well as self-reliant youth and children under extended protection, are also eligible for support.
The support includes a total of eight psychological counseling sessions, provided by registered service providers who will conduct psychological assessments and offer suitable counseling services based on the recipient's situation and needs.
The counseling service will be conducted face-to-face, one-on-one, with each session lasting at least 50 minutes. To apply, individuals must visit their local administrative welfare center with the required documents. Once selected as a recipient, they can choose a service provider and pay a co-payment based on their income level to receive the services.
