Jangseong-gun to Host the 1st Donghwa Nara Verbena Festival on the 29th

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it will hold the "1st Donghwa Village Verbena Festival" at Ramp Park in Donghwa-myeon on the 29th.

Verbena is a perennial plant that blooms from June to September, known in Korean as "Beodeulmapyeoncho," and its flower meanings are "May your wishes come true," "Family harmony," and "Unity."

This event has been prepared together by residents and public officials since April, including the Donghwa-myeon Village Chief Council, the Residents' Autonomy Committee, and the Federation of Social Organizations, by planting verbena, cosmos, hibiscus mutabilis, hydrangea, and more at Ramp Park.

As flower buds began to form at Ramp Park this month, word of mouth has spread, attracting more visitors.

Donghwa-myeon plans to offer a variety of enjoyable activities through the "Donghwa Village Verbena Festival," held for the first time this year on the 29th.

First, diverse performances such as Nanta, line dance, Donghwa Elementary School orchestra, traditional Korean music, and a magic balloon show will enliven the festival atmosphere.

Booths where visitors can create lasting memories of the festival, such as "Verbena Face Painting" and "Photo Zones," will be operated, and a "Picnic Zone" set up along the main festival routes will provide umbrellas and mats for rent to ensure a comfortable festival experience.

The Women's Federation will offer radish leaf bibimbap and cold noodles to satisfy the hunger of festival visitors, and in one corner, art works by children from Jangseong themed on "Donghwa" will be exhibited.

Jo Seong-gu and Lee Yun-bok, co-chairmen of the Donghwa-myeon Festival Promotion Committee, said, "We will do our best to prepare so that the '1st Donghwa Village Verbena Festival,' held through public-private cooperation, can become a prestigious local festival representing Donghwa-myeon," adding, "We also offer small prizes through SNS events, so we hope for active participation."
