The water play areas to be opened this time are ▲Osan City Hall ▲Malgeumteo Park ▲Jukmi Sports Park ▲Osaek Water Playground ▲Araedeul Park ▲Majung Forest, totaling six locations. Among them, Osaek Water Playground, Araedeul Park, and Majung Forest water play areas are newly opened this year.
Osaek Water Playground is located at 822 Osandong, Araedeul Park water play area at 623-1 Sucheongdong, and Majung Forest water play area at 273 Cheonghakdong, respectively.
Earlier, under the 8th term of the elected mayor, Osan City judged that the existing water play areas were insufficient compared to demand, raising concerns about safety accidents, and thus promoted the expansion of new water play areas. Among them, Osaek Water Playground and Araedeul Park water play area were prepared by Mayor Lee Gwon-jae personally securing 2.5 billion KRW in special adjustment grants twice through collaboration with Gyeonggi Province and members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly from the People Power Party. The Majung Forest water play area was a case where a donation and acceptance was induced as part of the infrastructure construction of the Segyo 2 District through consultation with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
The water play areas will operate only on Saturdays and Sundays for two weeks from the 6th to the 14th of next month. After that, from the 16th of next month, when school vacations begin, until August 18th, they will operate continuously except on closed days (Mondays).
