"Who Will Be the Shooting King?" ... 6th Changwon Special Mayor's National Shooting Competition Held
Over 2,300 Athletes from 348 Teams Compete, Carrying the Dreams and Hopes of Shooting Enthusiasts
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that the '6th Changwon Special Mayor's Cup National Shooting Competition' will be held at the Changwon International Shooting Range for seven days from the 24th to the 30th.
This competition, hosted and organized by the Gyeongnam Shooting Federation, will feature approximately 2,300 athletes from 348 teams nationwide, competing in four divisions: middle school, high school, university, and general. They will showcase their skills in all international competition events (excluding mixed events, 300m, and 50m running target).
In particular, as this event is held ahead of the National Sports Festival in Gyeongnam, a large number of athletes from across the country are expected to participate, which is anticipated to help revitalize the local economy.
Additionally, the Changwon International Shooting Range, the venue for this competition, boasts the best urban shooting facilities of international standards, featuring scientifically designed movement lines and state-of-the-art equipment, making it the best in the country.
Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, "I welcome the teams participating in the competition and hope you make many great memories in Changwon during the event. We will do our utmost to support the event so that all participants have a comfortable experience."
Meanwhile, the Changwon Special Mayor's Cup National Shooting Competition was established in 2019 to commemorate the successful hosting of the 2018 World Shooting Championships. Now in its sixth year, it has become a leading national shooting competition, attracting more than 2,000 athletes annually.
