NRB Signs Technical Cooperation MOU with LH to Promote Modular Housing Development
NRB, preparing for a KOSDAQ listing, is entering the housing construction market by partnering with LH to promote modular housing.
On the 21st, NRB (CEO Kang Geon-woo), an innovative company manufacturing mobile modular units, announced that it signed a technology cooperation agreement with LH (CEO Lee Han-jun) to promote modular housing. This is a follow-up measure to the ‘2030 LH OSC Housing Roadmap’ and serves as a key to solving chronic problems in the construction industry and innovatively advancing the modular housing industry.
Through this agreement, NRB plans to collaborate on ▲securing high-rise technology ▲standardization ▲platform technology development. Leveraging this opportunity, NRB aims to expand beyond the school modular market into the core housing construction industry of South Korea’s construction market through its modular product technology and PC-based modular units.
NRB was founded by the team that developed the first mobile modular unit and established a mobile school, manufacturing mobile modular units. Notably, NRB succeeded in commercializing the first modular unit in Korea with a 100% factory production rate, leading the development of Korea’s modular industry. NRB’s modular technology was also selected as a ‘2022 Industrial Technology Achievement’ by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, and this year it obtained recognition for industrialized housing. Additionally, NRB is preparing for a KOSDAQ listing within the year in collaboration with NH Investment & Securities.
Recently, modular construction methods have emerged as an alternative to address labor shortages and quality degradation issues at construction sites. Modular housing involves producing more than 80% of major components and parts as standardized and regulated modules in factories, which are then assembled and installed on-site. This method offers advantages such as shortened construction periods, reduced waste, lower carbon emissions, and solutions to noise, vibration, and dust problems, as well as improved quality.
