On the 20th, Nonsan City announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 19th for the construction of the public postpartum care center, a key pledge of the 8th local government administration. This project was selected for the Local Extinction Fund and plans to invest a total of 11 billion KRW. The city expects this to accelerate the creation of Nonsan as a city favorable for childbirth and child-rearing.
The Nonsan Public Postpartum Care Center will be a three-story building above ground with a total floor area of 2,285.39㎡.
It will also be equipped with 15 mother-child rooms, a neonatal room, a nursing room, a program room, a massage room, and a restaurant.
Last November, the city improved the facilities of the regional emergency medical center at Baekje Hospital, a medical corporation. Additionally, through active support for local obstetrics and gynecology clinics, a 24-hour emergency medical system for pregnant women and infants was established.
Until now, mothers had to travel to other regions for "remote childbirth and remote postpartum care" due to the lack of postpartum care centers.
The city expects that the establishment of the public postpartum care center will lay the foundation for creating a childbirth-friendly environment where mothers can give birth and raise their children well.
