Dong-A Socio Holdings publishes the sustainability management report Gamasot annually to transparently disclose to stakeholders the group’s management philosophy, including the mission of "Endless Challenge for the Health and Happiness of Humanity," as well as financial performance such as sales and operating profit, and non-financial performance such as ESG (Environment, Social, Governance). The integrated report containing the social responsibility management activities of the group companies in 2019 was first published in 2020, and this is the fifth edition.
The report title, Gamasot, is inspired by the Gamasot spirit, which is the root of Dong-A Socio Group’s founding principles of ▲Integrity ▲Sincerity ▲Consideration. The Gamasot spirit embodies the warm-heartedness of the late founder Chairman Kang Jung-hee, who wished to serve rice cooked in a gamasot (traditional Korean cauldron) to every guest who visited his home, reflecting his care and kindness toward people.
This report has improved readability and convenience so that users such as customers, employees, shareholders, and partner organizations can easily read it. Instead of the traditional vertical design suited for print, a horizontal design optimized for web environments such as PCs and laptops was applied. Additionally, it was produced in an interactive (responsive) PDF format that allows navigation within the report and direct links to related web pages.
The integrated report was prepared in compliance with global standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). Last year, new standards for the bio-technology and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as the road transportation industry standards, were newly included. Furthermore, among the Scope 3 categories for greenhouse gas emission management, domestic business trips and employee commuting were added following water usage and capital goods.
The integrated report Gamasot can be viewed on the Dong-A Socio Group Integrity Management website.
