Nam-pyo Hong, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, made this statement during his visit to the Aerospace Administration located in Sacheon.

View original imageOn the 18th, the Changwon city government, along with heads of major institutions related to the aerospace industry in the region, visited the Aerospace Administration in Sacheon to congratulate its opening and emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the Aerospace Administration and Changwon in the future core industry of aerospace.
Joining Mayor Nam-pyo Hong on this visit were key executives from Changwon city, Jaeho Choi, Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chuljin Choi, President of the Korea Institute of Materials Science, Namkyun Kim, President of the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, and Minwon Park, President of Changwon National University, as well as other leaders from related industry, academia, and research organizations.
On this day, Mayor Hong delivered a congratulatory message to Youngbin Yoon, Head of the Aerospace Administration, and discussed cooperation measures for the overall advanced manufacturing and future aerospace industries in Changwon, including connections with the newly developing Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0.
In particular, Changwon Special City is expected to play a key role in the aerospace industry, as it is home to about 60 major companies in the field, including Hanwha Aerospace, Hyundai Rotem, Yulgok, Yeonam Tech, and Kipco Electronics Aerospace, which lead the way in aircraft engine manufacturing and the space industry.
Mayor Hong stated, "Changwon has already established a foundation for advanced manufacturing industries to support the aerospace industry through specialization in materials, parts, and equipment. The aerospace industry is one of the core future industries that will drive Changwon's future."
