Sunchang-gun Operates 'Rural Home-Visit Bus' at Disabled Sports Center

On the 18th, Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that it operated the 'Rural Home-Visit Bus' for the first time at the Disabled Sports Center.

This event was promoted through the cooperation of three organizations: Sunchang-gun (Governor Choi Young-il), Nonghyup Sunchang-gun Branch (Branch Manager Lee Byung-hee), and Sunchang Nonghyup (Chairman Kim Seong-cheol).

It provided various specialized medical services to about 200 residents of Sunchang-eup, Jeokseong, and Yudeung-myeon, receiving great response.

On that day, the medical staff of the nonprofit organization Haetsalmaru provided traditional Korean medicine treatments such as acupuncture, physical therapy, and cupping, while the medical staff of IOBio conducted oral examinations and education on oral care methods. They also supported vision tests and magnifying glasses for participating residents.

In particular, this home-visit bus was highly praised for supporting vehicle transportation to the treatment location at the Disabled Sports Center, alleviating the inconvenience of elderly or mobility-impaired residents having to travel long distances to receive medical care.

Kim Seong-cheol, chairman of Sunchang Nonghyup, said, “We thank everyone who participated and hope this was a helpful time for farmers exhausted by the early heat. We will continue to strive to sustain various welfare projects for elderly farmers.”

Choi Young-il, governor of Sunchang-gun, said, “From this year, we have strengthened medical services by operating the Rural Home-Visit Bus project with local government funds in addition to the existing Happy Farmer Bus project. In July and August, we will operate two additional sessions targeting residents of Donggye, Pungsan, Paldeok, and Ssangchi-myeon to eliminate medical blind spots and improve residents’ quality of life.”
