Choo Kyung-ho: "Government Must Not Forget Last Year's Lessons and Prepare for Heavy Rain and Monsoon"
On the 16th, Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party, emphasized, "The government must not forget the lessons from last year and thoroughly prepare for heavy rain and the monsoon season."
At a high-level party-government meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, in the afternoon, Floor Leader Choo said, "We must thoroughly inspect whether the disaster recovery and recurrence prevention plans established after last year's flood damage are being properly implemented to minimize accidents and disasters."
Floor Leader Choo also expressed concern, saying, "During the summer, power demand surges due to heatwaves and heavy rain, increasing the risk of damage to electrical facilities. With climate change causing frequent extreme heatwaves and heavy rain, the risk of large-scale blackouts is also growing."
