Emotional performances by 34 young members featuring classical, movie OST, K-pop, and more
Geumcheon Cultural Foundation (CEO Seo Young-cheol) announced that on June 28th at 7:30 PM, it will hold the “Sound Wizard’s Ball” improvement concert by the “Geumcheon Uri Neighborhood Orchestra” at Geumnarae Art Hall.
The “Improvement Concert” is a concert organized to enhance performance skills, and at this concert, the youth members will showcase the skills they have honed during the first half of this year by instrument section.
The members plan to perform classical music pieces such as Bach’s Minuet No. 3 and The Nutcracker, as well as original soundtracks (OST) from familiar movies like Aladdin, Wonka, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and The Wizard of Oz. They will also perform K-pop songs such as “Bam Yanggaeng” and “I Absolutely Hate Being Sick,” allowing everyone to easily enjoy the orchestra through a variety of musical genres.
The performance will last a total of 60 minutes, and the admission fee will be operated under a “Donation by Impression” system, where the audience donates according to the emotional impact they feel from the performance.
Jang Han-sol, music director of the Geumcheon Uri Neighborhood Orchestra, said, “This year’s improvement concert is the first performance after new and existing members practiced together,” adding, “We hope many people will attend to experience on stage the harmony and communication that the youth members showed during the practice process.”
Seo Young-cheol, CEO of Geumcheon Cultural Foundation, stated, “This is an opportunity to see how much children and adolescents who cannot read sheet music or are handling instruments for the first time have improved over half a year,” and added, “We hope many residents will join to watch the growth of youth members through music education and the arts and send their encouragement and support.”

The “Geumcheon Uri Neighborhood Orchestra (Music Director Jang Han-sol)” was started in 2012 by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 2017, it has been directly operated by the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation. Currently, 34 members are participating.
