Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced on the 16th that it has been selected as a "2024 2nd Innovative Product Pilot Use Institution" in a Public Procurement Service contest and will promote the installation project of an "AIoT-based Smart Integrated Solution (Savvy)" in public restrooms.

The innovative product pilot purchase project, led by the Public Procurement Service, selects pilot use institutions to support initial public procurement channels and promote public service improvements by purchasing and supplying innovative products, analyzing their usage results, and expanding purchases. Seongdong-gu will receive 210 million KRW in national funding through this selection.

The product selected for pilot use by Seongdong-gu is the "AIoT Smart Integrated Solution for Safe, Secure, and Satisfactory Restrooms." Using non-identifiable data that does not infringe on personal information, it detects abnormal behavior of individuals staying in restrooms in real-time through infrared sensors, analyzes it with AI algorithms, and automatically sends alerts to administrators and police immediately upon detection of risky situations such as illegal filming or falls, enabling prompt response.

This system is expected to minimize damage by detecting criminal behavior in advance and prepare for emergencies by detecting falls of elderly or vulnerable individuals. The "AIoT Smart Integrated Solution" will be installed in a total of 168 units within women's restrooms and restrooms for the disabled across all public restrooms in Seongdong-gu by the end of this year.
