L7 Chicago is located in the Chicago Loop, known as the largest cluster of skyscrapers in the U.S. alongside Manhattan, New York. It boasts excellent accessibility due to its proximity to the city’s tourist attractions and business districts. Situated near the Chicago Riverwalk, a riverside promenade along the Chicago River, and the Magnificent Mile, Chicago’s largest commercial district, it welcomes visitors with various purposes.
L7 Chicago was designed by AvroKO, a design firm renowned for its numerous awards. AvroKO, known for its luxurious and sophisticated interior designs, has worked on world-famous hotels such as Six Senses London and 1 Hotel Central Park New York. For L7 Chicago, they infused the building, constructed in 1912, with the vibrant urban atmosphere unique to Chicago and elements of Korean tradition.
AvroKO drew design inspiration from the traditional Korean textile technique ‘jogakbo’ and incorporated it throughout the hotel, from the handcrafted carpet patterns in the guest rooms to the lampshades. The hotel interior, newly imbued with Korean design, offers a comfortable space for relaxation away from the city’s hustle and bustle. Bench seating was installed by the large windows in the rooms to allow guests to take in the cityscape at a glance.
In the F&B sector, the Korean American steakhouse ‘PERILLA,’ partnered with renowned local chef Andrew Lim, introduces Korean-style BBQ. PERILLA, a dining concept that reinterprets Chicago’s traditional steakhouse culture from the perspective of a Korean chef, offers steak menus enhanced with the flavors of traditional Korean cuisine.
Kim Tae-hong, CEO of Lotte Hotel & Resort, said, “L7 Chicago is meaningful as the first entry of the L7 brand into the U.S. market,” adding, “At this new hotel, guests will experience a unique hotel stay that combines Korean warmth in hospitality with the distinctive character of Chicago.”
