Over 100,000 Visitors in 200 Days Since Opening of Sadang-ro Overpass and Bus Stop in Dongjak-gu
Average Daily Users Increase Up to 30.6%... Meeting Public Transportation Demand of Local Residents
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has alleviated the inconvenience of local residents' commuting by opening a pedestrian overpass and bus stop in front of Sadang Lotte Castle Golden Foret (Sadang-ro 90). Within 200 days of opening, the number of users reached 100,000, with the average daily users increasing by up to 30.6%.
According to an analysis of usage status, the cumulative number of users over 200 days since its opening at the end of October last year was 107,384. The average daily number of users steadily increased from 479 in the first month of opening to 626 (30.6%) in May.
This figure confirms the positive response from users to the facility and is the result of significantly contributing to strengthening accessibility by meeting the public transportation demand of local residents.
The significant increase in users is attributed to the operation of the elevator at the Sadang-ro pedestrian overpass, newly established along with the bus stop by the district office, which started operating in January, improving accessibility for the transportation-vulnerable.
A resident of Sadang 5-dong, Mr. A, said, “There was no nearby bus stop for a long time, so I had to use a private car or walk a long way to take the village bus, which was inconvenient. Thanks to the pedestrian overpass and bus stop, travel time has been reduced and it has become much more convenient.”
The district office, through proactive administration in the 8th local government term, installed the bus stop and pedestrian overpass, resolving the inconvenience residents faced when detouring over 500 meters to the overpass toward Namseong Station to catch the bus on the opposite side, thereby improving the walking environment.
The newly established bus stop serves a total of five routes, including Dongjak 14 village bus, two routes 742 and 752 heading to Seoul Station and Gusan-dong, the N64 bus connecting Yangjae and Gaehwa Station, and the 6019 airport bus.
