Busan Urban Corporation Expands 'BMC Smart Home Advisory Group'... Consumer-Centered Living Spaces
Expanding from Housewives to Newlyweds, Youth, and Seniors
Gathering Opinions on Smart Living Spaces for One- and Two-Person Households
Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) announced that it will significantly expand the composition of its 'BMC Smart Home Advisory Group,' which is operated to improve residential space design and quality, from the existing group of housewives to include newlyweds, young adults, and seniors.
Since 2022, BMC has been operating an advisory group consisting of five housewives to discover and utilize new and innovative ideas from citizens throughout all stages of apartment housing projects, from design to completion, in order to create new residential spaces that meet customer needs.
Over the past two years, the advisory group has conducted a total of 20 advisory activities, including: ▲reviewing the adequacy of unit layouts and functions ▲evaluating sample unit finishing materials and design ▲pre-completion quality inspections and education on identified issues ▲conducting customer satisfaction surveys during pre-move-in visits ▲quality inspections of unsold units ▲and researching residential trends.
Based on this advice, BMC has established building policies that meet customer expectations and has worked to enhance customer satisfaction.
The corporation plans to continue the effective activities of the housewife advisory group and also focus on strengthening residential design for the rapidly increasing number of one- and two-person households, such as newlyweds, young adults, and seniors.
To this end, after the term of the first 'BMC Smart Home Advisory Group' ends at the end of July this year, the upcoming second group will expand its target from housewives to include newlyweds, young adults, and seniors. This will allow for the collection of opinions from various demographics and the investigation of the latest residential trends to create smarter living spaces.
Applicants for the advisory group, which will be recruited in June, must meet the following criteria: housewives must have lived in an apartment in Busan for more than five years, while newlyweds, young adults, and seniors must be residents of Busan as of the recruitment announcement date.
