Toss Revamps 'Send Political Donations' Service
Viva Republica, the operator of the mobile financial platform Toss, has revamped its 'Send Political Donations' service in line with the opening of the 22nd National Assembly.
According to Toss on the 12th, even when donors directly enter the political donation account number via general transfer in the Toss application, they can immediately input the information required for tax credit application. Previously, if users did not use the 'Send Political Donations' service menu, they had to go through an additional process to verify tax credit-related information, causing inconvenience.
The 'Send Political Donations' service was launched in July 2021 to simplify the political funding donation process. It provides account numbers for members of the National Assembly, political parties, and donation accounts, allowing users to complete the transfer and tax credit information input in about 30 seconds. During the 21st National Assembly, seven political parties and 85 members' offices used the service, with over 22,000 donations made and total donations exceeding 1.2 billion KRW.
