Incheon Namdong-gu Improves Personnel System for Pregnant and Parenting Public Officials... Implements Maternity Protection Time System
Namdong-gu, Incheon, is taking steps to create a work environment where employees can balance their careers and child-rearing to overcome the low birthrate crisis.
On the 11th, the district announced that it has prepared the "Namdong-gu Childcare Public Officials Personnel Operation Improvement Plan," which includes improvements to the parental leave system for pregnant and childcare public officials.
The improvement plan was established with the goal of creating a birth-friendly environment by implementing a personnel system that reflects social changes such as work-family balance.
The main contents include preferential measures for those on parental leave to prevent disadvantages and the establishment of a system that allows flexible use of childcare time in line with the trend of balancing work and childcare.
The district plans to grant a minimum "Woo" grade (top 60%) in work performance evaluations for those on parental leave and to abolish proportional payment of performance bonuses for those on parental leave.
Additionally, for pregnant and childcare public officials, the district will implement a maternity protection time system and childcare time, allowing up to 2 hours per day out of an 8-hour workday, and a child care work system that allows actual work of only 6 hours per day by pre-reflecting childcare time. A system allowing pregnant and childcare public officials to apply for desired departments will also be implemented.
