Gyeonggi-do to Survey 2,000 'At-Risk Elderly' by the End of July
Gyeonggi Province will investigate 2,000 elderly households in crisis using crisis information data.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that from June to the end of July, it will verify whether the selected crisis households identified through data are actually in crisis and conduct an investigation of 2,000 people to provide necessary support.
To this end, Gyeonggi Province selected 2,000 elderly households that have excessive medical expenses or records of financial delinquency by utilizing the Blind Spot Welfare Discovery System operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Blind Spot Welfare Discovery System can identify and analyze 45 crisis information items from 19 institutions, including health insurance premium arrears, power outages, and water outages.
Gyeonggi Province, together with 31 cities and counties, will confirm the crisis status of the selected 2,000 people through phone calls or visits. For households found to be in crisis, welfare services such as public support including basic living security and emergency assistance, as well as connections to private resources, will be provided.

Heo Seung-beom, Director of the Welfare Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Following April and May, we selected elderly households in crisis showing signs of crisis by utilizing crisis information on excessive medical expenses and financial delinquency," and urged, "If you discover neighbors in crisis, please contact the Gyeonggi Province Emergency Welfare Crisis Counseling Hotline (010-4419-7722), the Gyeonggi Province Call Center (031-120), or the Eup/Myeon/Dong Administrative Welfare Center."
