Kim Su-young, Vice Chairman of Gwangju Seo-gu Council, Receives 'Local Legislative Service Award'
Kim Su-young, Vice Chairman of the Seo-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 8th that he received the ‘Local Legislative Service Award’ in the Korea Council Chairman Association category, awarded by the Korea Association of City, County, and District Council Chairpersons (hereinafter referred to as the Association).
The Local Legislative Service Award is given by the nationwide Association of City, County, and District Council Chairpersons to city, county, and district council members who have contributed to the welfare of residents and regional development.
The Association recognized Councilor Kim Su-young’s legislative activities aimed at improving cultural and living conditions for Seo-gu residents and providing high-quality administration for the residents, and decided to grant the award.
Through his legislative activities, Councilor Kim has strived to ensure soundness, transparency, and democracy in local financial management, and has voiced opinions to enhance residents’ convenience and welfare.
In his legislative speeches, Councilor Kim advocated for the effective implementation of the resident participation budget system to strengthen budget transparency and demanded budget allocations that reflect residents’ needs.
He also proposed alternatives to improve living conditions for local residents, such as forming the Seo-gu Silver Choir, improving treatment for childcare workers, expanding park golf courses, installing illegal filming detection devices for safe use of public restrooms, and supporting families with disabilities.
Recently, he has been consistently engaged in legislative activities to improve resident autonomy and living conditions by demanding the full opening of village workshops and community spaces to form village autonomous communities through resident-led gatherings, clubs, and artistic activities.
