Yeongdeok County Silver Welfare Center and Daegu Haany University Conduct 'Visiting Korean Medicine Volunteer Service'
The Yeongdeok-gun Silver Welfare Center in North Gyeongsang Province held a "Visiting Korean Medicine Volunteer Service" event over two days in Byeonggok-myeon (May 25-26) and Jipum-myeon (June 1-2).

View original imageThis volunteer service was provided to 140 residents in Byeonggok-myeon and 140 residents in Jipum-myeon. The event included a special lecture on Korean medicine adhesive bands by Professor Lee Bonghyo of Daegu University of Korean Medicine and Supervising Korean Medicine Doctor Jeong Gwangho, as well as diagnosis and consultations by 40 prospective Korean medicine doctors. Various Korean medicine treatments such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal medicine were also offered, receiving a great response from the participating residents.
Bae Younghwal, head of the Byeonggok Senior Citizens Association, said, "I would like to express my gratitude to Yeongdeok-gun for organizing this Korean medicine volunteer service for the residents. I hope this event will continue as a representative volunteer activity."
Nam Jin-ho, head of the Jipum Senior Citizens Association, also said, "I would like to thank the Yeongdeok-gun Silver Welfare Center for providing Korean medicine services in areas where access to hospitals is difficult."
Park Misuk, director of the center and organizer of the event, said, "Continuing Korean medicine volunteer services is never easy financially or physically, but thanks to the support of Yeongdeok-gun, we have been able to carry on. As the only silver welfare center in Yeongdeok-gun, we will do our best to contribute to the health and well-being of the residents."
