"What Business Does Our Neighborhood Need?"... Nowon-gu Calls for 2025 Resident Proposal Projects
June 10-28: Collecting Policy Opinions Across All Areas Before Lunar New Year
Anyone Interested Can Participate via Nowon-gu Office Website, Local Community Centers, or Mail
Nowon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will promote the 'Nowon-gu Resident Proposal Project' to organize the 2025 resident participation budget.
The resident participation budget system allows for the discovery of life-oriented policies directly related to residents' daily lives, resulting in high levels of resident awareness and satisfaction.
The scale of this year's Nowon-gu Resident Proposal Project is a total of 3 billion KRW, covering the entire district administration from small policies that can improve residents' daily inconveniences to significant projects aimed at increasing resident benefits and regional development.
Projects that violate laws or ordinances, or those that involve conflicting interests or potential conflicts among residents, are excluded.
Anyone who is a resident of Nowon-gu, or a worker or student located in Nowon-gu, can participate. From June 10 to June 28, participants can download the ‘Resident Proposal Project Form’ from the Nowon-gu Office website and submit it online. It is also possible to visit the nearest community service center or submit by mail.
Submitted proposals will be reviewed for feasibility by related departments, then selected through resident voting at the resident general meeting and deliberation by the Resident Participation Budget Committee. Selected projects will be reflected in the 2025 budget proposal and finalized after approval by the council.
Meanwhile, last year, the district selected 27 projects including ‘Installation of Safety Streetlights on the Way Home’ to enhance crime prevention effects along apartment roads, ‘Creation of Loess Trails’ for barefoot walking, which is emerging as a new health management trend, and ‘Installation of Smart Shelters’ to allow comfortable use of public transportation while avoiding heat and cold.
