Building a Culture of Practicing Carbon Neutrality for a Sustainable Future
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will host the "Bye Bye Plastic Environmental Experience Festival" at 10 a.m. on the 8th at Dasom Square in Busan Citizens Park, targeting around 400 participants including students, faculty, parents, and citizens.
This event, held in celebration of the 3rd Environmental Education Week, aims to foster a culture of carbon neutrality for a sustainable future.
The event is organized by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and sponsored by Busan City and Busan Environmental Corporation, with participation from local environmental organizations and related institutions.
The event will kick off with an environmental message performance by the environmental clubs of Jangjeon Elementary School and Dongpyeong Girls' Middle School. In addition, there will be sharing of environmental education case studies from ecological and carbon-neutral pilot schools, operation of 23 environmental experience booths, an environmental talk concert, and an environmental Golden Bell quiz, offering a variety of programs.
The environmental experience booths will offer a range of activities such as calculating the carbon emissions of your meal, growing companion plants, making natural scrubbers, making natural dish soap, and making Sochang handkerchiefs.
In particular, the "Busan Youth Environmental Committee," consisting of 30 middle and high school students from the Busan area, will examine local environmental issues and host an environmental talk concert and Golden Bell quiz under the theme "A World Without Plastic."
Additionally, the Busan Environmental Corporation's Busan Resource Circulation Cooperation Center has prepared an "Upcycling Art" exhibition, which gives new value to waste by transforming it into art.
