Doosan Bobcat Completes Mini Excavator Production Building at Chennai Plant in India
Sales Target for India Corporation in 2028: Double Growth Compared to Last Year
Doosan Bobcat announced on the 5th that it has established a mini excavator production building at its Chennai plant in India and held a completion ceremony.
Through approximately nine months of construction, Doosan Bobcat completed a mini excavator production building with an area of 11,300㎡ (about 3,400 pyeong) within the existing Chennai plant site.
The mini excavators are expected to begin full-scale production next year after the installation and stabilization of the production line.

Doosan Bobcat India aims to sell 8,900 units of equipment annually by 2028, including existing products such as backhoe loaders and skid-steer loaders, the newly produced mini excavators, and portable power products manufactured at the Bengaluru plant. This target is about twice the sales volume of the India subsidiary last year. The backhoe loader is a multipurpose machine, with a loader at the front and a backhoe (excavation tool) at the rear.
Doosan Bobcat has been producing backhoe loaders since completing the Chennai plant in 2019. The Chennai plant is Doosan Bobcat’s only global backhoe loader production base, and since last year, it has expanded its product lineup by adding the ultra-compact skid-steer loader 'S70,' actively increasing export volumes. As a result, the India subsidiary’s sales (in Indian Rupees) have grown at an average annual rate of 22% over the past five years.
Vice Chairman Scott Park said, "India is a key region supporting future growth," adding, "Doosan Bobcat’s Chennai plant will leap forward as a 'global production base' based on quality that meets the standards of the global market."
