Gyeonggi Office of Education Publishes 'Standard Operating Procedures' for School Construction Transparency... First Nationwide
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has become the first among the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education to publish a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for educational facility construction management to enhance transparency and reliability in school construction management.
On the 5th, the Office announced that it has redefined the standards for school facility work for construction managers at 25 education support offices and published the SOP as an electronic document, making it accessible anytime and anywhere on the Gyeonggi Education e-book website (ebook.goe.go.kr).
The SOP consists of ▲a system diagram for new school construction work ▲step-by-step work definitions ▲a workflow map (MAP) for the work process ▲activity instructions for detailed tasks ▲and terminology related to construction work. In particular, all tasks from construction planning to completion have been subdivided and standardized into 186 items.
Additionally, the Office plans to build a ‘Construction Management Platform’ scheduled for pilot operation in June within this year, which will digitize all stages of construction management and provide it to managers for efficient management.
