Gwangjin-gu Supports Childbirth and Childcare Expenses for Families with Disabilities
Support Payments for Disabled Individuals or Their Spouses for Childbirth (Including Miscarriage and Stillbirth) and Childcare
120,000 KRW for childbirth expenses, 100,000 KRW monthly for childcare support... Additional 50,000 KRW childbirth support for residents living in the area over 1 year... Apply in person at the local community service center... Overlapping applications for childbirth and childcare support allowed
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is providing childbirth and childcare support to alleviate the economic burden on families with disabilities and promote their living stability.
First, childbirth support funds are provided when a registered person with a disability or their spouse gives birth or experiences a miscarriage or stillbirth of a fetus over 4 months of pregnancy (excluding miscarriage due to artificial abortion). Families with disabilities who gave birth or had a miscarriage/stillbirth this year can receive 1.2 million KRW regardless of the degree of disability. If the parents have resided in Gwangjin-gu for more than one year as of the newborn's birth date, an additional 500,000 KRW is provided fully funded by the district.
Childcare support funds can be applied for by families with disabilities who have been registered residents of Gwangjin-gu for over one year as of the application date and are raising children under the age of 7. This can be received concurrently with childbirth support funds, and 100,000 KRW is paid monthly until the month before the child turns 7 years old.
Families with disabilities wishing to apply should prepare the necessary documents and visit the local community service center in their jurisdiction. For detailed information on the support process and other inquiries, contact the Social Welfare and Disability Division of Gwangjin-gu Office.
