The G7 leaders reaffirmed their existing support for the "two-state solution," which envisions mutual recognition and peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine.
They said, "We urge Hamas to accept this negotiation, which Israel is prepared to pursue, and call on countries with influence over Hamas to ensure this."
Earlier, on the 31st of last month, President Biden unveiled the three-stage ceasefire plan and announced that it had been conveyed to Hamas through Qatar, with Hamas also expressing a welcoming stance.
The ceasefire plan's first stage involves the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip for six weeks, along with the release of some hostages, including women, the elderly, and the injured.
