[Click eStock] "NAVER, Webtoon Nasdaq Listing Countdown"
Hana Securities analyzed on the 3rd that Webtoon Entertainment, a subsidiary of NAVER, has submitted a Nasdaq registration statement (S-1), and growth as a global storytelling technology platform is expected.
NAVER's subsidiary Webtoon Entertainment (hereafter Webtoon Enter) submitted a registration statement (S-1) on the 31st of last month aiming for a Nasdaq IPO in the United States. Typically, it takes 6 to 12 months until listing, but there is significant variation. For example, Coupang took one month, and Proficient Auto Logistics, which was listed on Nasdaq last month, took 28 days.
Junho Lee, a researcher at Hana Securities, stated, “Currently, the global market estimates the corporate value at 3 to 4 billion dollars, which seems to be an appropriate level within the existing valuation range,” and analyzed, “The Nasdaq listing itself can provide marketing effects in the North American market and secure funds for investment.”
Researcher Junho Lee explained, “Webtoon Enter views the potential market size as 130 billion dollars for paid content, 680 billion dollars for advertising, and 900 billion dollars for IP,” and added, “For continuous growth in traffic and performance under the current structure, works like the domestically successful webtoon IP ‘Solo Leveling’ must be released every year without interruption.”
