Hana Securities analyzed on the 31st that Kostexis has passed the quality test for silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor spacers for the global semiconductor company ON Semiconductor, marking the first time in Korea, and expects orders to be secured within the year.

Seongho Kim, a researcher at Hana Securities, stated in a report on the same day, “The current direction of the global semiconductor market highlights the importance of thermal management materials due to heat dissipation issues caused by the advancement of semiconductor performance such as AI and HBM,” and added, “With the expansion of power demand in AI data centers, ESS, and electric vehicles, the adoption of SiC and GaN semiconductors is increasing, and Kostexis, which possesses core technologies for high thermal conductivity semiconductor materials, is expected to benefit.”

Researcher Kim also noted, “The global spacer market is mainly represented by Japan’s Kyocera and ALMT, and Kostexis is the only domestic company that has localized thermal management spacers for SiC semiconductors,” and predicted, “Sales of thermal management spacers for ON Semiconductor are expected to exceed 25 billion KRW by 2025, and since Kostexis holds prototype supply references for STMicroelectronics and Bisteco, passing the quality test could lead to securing additional customers and orders.”

He continued, “Considering that ON Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics hold more than 50% market share in the SiC semiconductor market, the potential order volume for Kostexis is expected to rise sharply,” and forecasted, “Profitability is likely to improve with high-margin products based on technological capabilities.”
