Kolon Group announced on the 29th that it is conducting the focused volunteer week, 'Dream Partners Week,' from the 20th of this month until the 31st.
Through the Kolon Social Volunteer Corps, which involves all employees, Kolon Group carries out social volunteer activities under the slogan "Stepping Stone to Dreams, Dream Partners." Now in its 12th year, Dream Partners Week is one of the four major annual campaigns of the Kolon Social Volunteer Corps, during which the group intensively engages in social contribution activities every May since the corps' inception.
This year's Dream Partners Week, themed "A Warm You Makes Spring Exciting, Improving Living Environments in Spring," included activities such as improving children's living environments through connections with local communities and regional children's centers near Kolon Group business sites nationwide, including Gumi, Cheonan, and Gimcheon; improving the living conditions of low-income elderly living alone near Kolon Group headquarters in Gwacheon; and, as part of the One Company One Park initiative, gardening and removing invasive plants at the Seoul Botanic Park adjacent to the Kolon One & Only Tower in Magok, Seoul.
Notably, Kolon Group CEOs actively led by example during this Dream Partners Week. On the 28th, Seo Chang-hee, head of the Kolon Social Volunteer Corps, visited 'Seongsan Happy Home School' in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to carry out terrace wooden deck repairs and flowerbed gardening. CEOs of affiliates, including Kim Jeong-il of Kolon Global, Heo Seong of Kolon ENP, and Kang I-gu of Kolon Benit, also participated in various volunteer activities at business sites across the country. On the afternoon of the 29th, Lee Gyu-ho, Vice Chairman and CEO of Kolon Corporation's Strategy Division, personally took part in wallpaper and flooring work at the home of a low-income elderly person living alone in Burim-dong, Gwacheon.
Alongside the CEOs' leadership, over 500 Kolon Group employees contributed their warm hands. During Dream Partners Week, affiliate employees visited Hello Dream regional children's centers, where they regularly volunteer nationwide, to carry out facility renovations such as wallpapering and installing storage cabinets and desks. Employees working at Kolon Tower in Gwacheon visited the home of an elderly person suffering from hoarding disorder living nearby, organizing the house and installing storage cabinets and a bed. On the 4th of next month, employees working at the Kolon One & Only Tower in Magok plan to conduct environmental improvement activities at the Seoul Botanic Park in connection with Dream Partners Week.
The house-building activities for descendants of independence activists, which began in 2021 when Kolon Group sponsored the Liberation Day charity marathon '815 Run' in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Korea, continued. Following last year's construction of a house for the descendants of independence activist Kim Jeong-gyu in Boryeong, Chungnam, on the 28th, Kolon Group visited the home of the descendants of independence activist Chae Bok-man residing in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, to carry out insulation and interior gypsum board installation.
