On the 28th, marking the 8th anniversary of the Guri Station screen door fatal accident, Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, Seoul, paid tribute with staff at the Guri Station platform section 9-4 and commemorated the victim, Mr. Kim (born in 1997, aged 19).
Mayor Kim stated, "Such a tragedy must never happen again. We will do our best to create a safe working environment so that Mr. Kim's sacrifice is not in vain," and left a memorial message saying, "We will always work to create a safe world."

Mr. Kim, who was an outsourced company employee, died on May 28, 2016, after being struck by a departing train while repairing a screen door alone at the inner loop platform of Seoul Subway Line 2 at Guri Station.
