Through Art, To the World, Into the Future," the city plans to solidly organize the Miryang Arirang Arts Troupe, develop three major K-Arirang performing arts contents, create a cultural and artistic ecosystem involving 1% of the city’s population, and vitalize culture and arts content businesses based on Arirang values. Through these efforts, Miryang aims to be designated as an "Arirang Arts Special Zone Unique Venue" and to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as an international city that exchanges with the world through the values of Arirang, promoting the globalization of Miryang Arirang.
Mayor Ahn Byungku stated, "Miryang is a region rich in cultural heritage, including Miryang Arirang, Yeongnamnu, and traditional houses. Based on these cultural assets, local artists have the foundation to freely create and perform. We will improve facilities and develop new programs so that not only artists who have left their hometown but also young artists from Yeongnam can come to Miryang."
