A man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s drowned after falling into a reservoir while attempting to hold a Cheondojae ritual, prompting a police investigation.
According to the Busan Gangseo Police Station on the 28th, the incident occurred at 5:17 p.m. on the 27th at Cheonseong Reservoir, located on the mountainside of Gadeokdo in Gangseo-gu, Busan, where a man identified as Mr. A and a woman identified as Ms. B drowned.
Another woman in her 40s who was present at the scene testified to the police, "At the gutdang near the reservoir, Mr. A and Ms. B were holding a Cheondojae ritual when a disagreement arose, causing the event to be halted. When Mr. A and others insisted on continuing the ritual, Ms. B hurriedly left the scene and jumped into the reservoir."
