Today, Gyeongnam has taken its bold first step to become the capital of global aerospace, beyond just South Korea."
He emphasized, "It is the first time in history that a ministry, agency, or administration of the central government has been established in Gyeongnam, and this achievement was made possible by the unified will of our residents." He also highlighted that the Aerospace Administration is the only central government agency headquartered in Gyeongnam.
Governor Park stated, "With the establishment of the Aerospace Administration, Gyeongnam has secured a new growth engine as the forward base for South Korea's advanced aerospace industry."
He added, "The blueprint for South Korea's aerospace industry, including a lunar landing in 2032 and a Mars exploration in 2045, will soon become the future of Gyeongnam."
He also presented goals such as fostering more than 2,000 aerospace companies, creating 500,000 related jobs, and expanding South Korea's share in the global aerospace market from the current 1% to 10%.
Additionally, he stated, "By building a private-led aerospace industry ecosystem centered on the Aerospace Administration, enacting special laws for constructing an aerospace complex city, and other measures, we will lay the foundation for South Korea to become one of the world's top five aerospace powers."
He also said, "Along with the aerospace industry, Gyeongnam's existing major industries will grow together, talents will gather, and children born and raised in Gyeongnam will realize their dreams here, creating new hope."

Governor Park said, "Since the special law establishing the Aerospace Administration was proposed in April last year, there have been countless obstacles and twists and turns until today's opening, but this process has reminded us that nothing is impossible when our residents come together. I promise never to stop our challenge toward space, and I will always walk this path together with the people."
