Museum Relay Visit Challenge

Encouraging Participation with Unique Performances

Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Yeong-min) Buncheong Culture Museum announced that it showcased a museum relay visit challenge performance at the museum plaza on the 21st to expand internal and external awareness and to wish for attracting 100,000 visitors in 2024, kicking off a campaign to draw in visitors.

The relay visit challenge is a project promoted to revitalize the museum and raise interest in Buncheong ceramics. A total of 814 organizations including local institutions, social groups, the education office, schools, and villages participate in this large-scale relay challenge project.

The main programs include ▲tours of Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum, the family literature museums of Jo Jong-hyeon, Jo Jeong-rae, and Kim Cho-hye, and the Gapjae Folk Exhibition Hall ▲making your own Buncheong pottery ▲group dance performances ▲group commemorative photo sessions, among various experiential activities. Visitors who complete all experiences will receive a commemorative photo frame and a Buncheong ceramic mug as gifts.

Governor Gong Yeong-min took the lead as the first participant in the relay visit challenge on the day, signaling the official start of the challenge with a dance performance to lively music alongside museum staff, and recommended the Goheung County Council and Goheung Fire Station as the second relay participants.

The performance video will be uploaded on the museum’s website and official YouTube channel to promote the event both internally and externally and to continue the challenge until the goal of attracting 100,000 visitors is achieved.

Meanwhile, since its opening in October 2017, the Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum has surpassed 29,000 visitors in 2024 (with a cumulative total of 406,000 visitors). The museum is making every effort to attract 100,000 visitors by implementing various new policies such as Buncheong ceramic media art, special exhibitions, Buncheong Culture Day, and museum Wednesday visit days.
