Japanese Government: "Korea-China-Japan Summit Meeting, an Important Opportunity for the Three Countries and the Entire Region"
The Japanese government has expressed that the upcoming Korea-China-Japan summit to be held in Seoul on the 26th and 27th will be "an important opportunity not only for the three countries but for the entire region, as the leaders of the three nations, who share great responsibility for regional peace and prosperity, gather in one place to discuss directions for cooperation, concrete measures, and various regional issues."
At a press conference on the afternoon of the 23rd, Yoshimasa Hayashi, Chief Cabinet Secretary and spokesperson for the Japanese government, stated, "Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit South Korea to attend the Korea-China-Japan summit on the 26th and 27th."
Regarding the bilateral meeting between President Yoon Suk-yeol and Prime Minister Kishida scheduled for the 26th in conjunction with the trilateral summit, he said, "South Korea and Japan are important neighboring countries that must cooperate as partners in addressing various issues in the international community."
Secretary Hayashi emphasized, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Kishida and President Yoon last year, shuttle diplomacy between the leaders resumed, and dialogue and cooperation between South Korea and Japan have expanded strongly in both quality and quantity across various fields including politics, security, economy, and culture."
