Hanwha Advanced Materials Supplies Eco-Friendly Biodegradable Materials to Yuhan-Kimberly
Applied to Brand Products Including Kleenex
Hanwha Advanced Materials will supply biodegradable materials that easily decompose in soil to Yuhan-Kimberly. Based on advanced material processing technology, the company plans to expand the supply of sustainable eco-friendly raw materials to contribute to climate change response.

Hanwha Advanced Materials announced on the 23rd that it signed a business agreement to participate in the 'Green Action Alliance' with Yuhan-Kimberly at Yuhan-Kimberly's headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The Green Action Alliance is a project to build an industrial supply chain ecosystem centered on eco-friendly materials to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. Yuhan-Kimberly is promoting the establishment of inter-company cooperation with the goal of achieving a 95% sales ratio of sustainable products by 2030.
Through this agreement, Hanwha Advanced Materials will apply biodegradable plastic PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) made from starch extracted from corn, sugarcane, and other sources to major Yuhan-Kimberly brand products, including Kleenex.
In addition, the two companies plan to actively seek cooperation measures to build a circular economy through technological innovation such as developing various eco-friendly raw materials and recycling waste plastics, as well as expanding the commercialization of these products.

Kim In-hwan, CEO of Hanwha Advanced Materials, said, "Taking this cooperation with Yuhan-Kimberly as an opportunity, we will continue efforts to expand the supply of eco-friendly raw materials using Hanwha Advanced Materials' technology," adding, "We will actively participate in building a circular resource system to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality."
